Bingo

If you are looking for The Everything's ABC's blog hop, click HERE.

Welcome to our March Art Philosophy/Artiste Blog Hop! As you know, both the Artiste and the Art Philosophy cartridges are available exclusively through a Close to My Heart consultant. If you don't already have a Consultant that you are currently working with, please contact one the Consultants in our hop with any questions you have!

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Lucy's blog – Love 2 Create  If you came from Lucy's blog – Love 2 Create then you are in the right place!

Our challenge this month features not only one of these amazing cartridges but also a "BINGO" card!

Here is the BINGO card that our Consultants were given:

The Consultants were told they could make anything they wanted using the Artiste OR Art Philosophy cartridge AND you work off the BINGO card posted above. Basically, you make a "BINGO" by going across, down, or diagonally and you have to use everything in that bingo line.

For my project, I chose Ribbon, 3D and Stitching. I will have to say the stitching was pretty hard for
me. I am not a seamstress, nor do I hand stitch very well, but I decided that I needed to step out side of my comfort zone. I have been practicing sewing a little using paper, so I thought I would use my sewing machine to stitch on my project. I chose the purse 3D object from the Artiste cartridge (pg41). I used Sky card stock, and I cut the purse at 5 inches. I used  brown thread that was already in my machine, I am not sure of the maker. I used some retired  chocolate brown ribbon from my stash to create the bow, and I used a rhinestone brad for the bling on the strap. My sewing on this little purse is not great, but I decided to post it anyway in hopes that some one might give it a try. I actually sewed this all the way around the edges, then folded it and adhered the flaps together.

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter G. This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has chosen as their G element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Amber's blog ~ Scrapper's Therapy

If you came from Amber's blog ~ Scrapper's Therapy   then you're on the right track!

For my project, I used the letter "G" on the Art philosophy cartridge from Close To My Heart. I cut out the border using an old paper packet called Typeset for the back round, and a piece of  Cashmere card stock for the center. I cut both of  the images at 5 1/2. I decided to make this for my youngest daughter to put on her door. For the letters in her name, I used a green called Sweet Leaf. The letters are cut from Art Philosophy as well, and they are cut at  1 1/2. The purple felt banner at the bottom is from Queen and Co. I got it a few years ago at the CK convention when it was in town. The sparkles are from my stash. I hope you like it!

I won a Liebster award!

Imagine my surprise while reading the comments from yesterday's blog hop post for the March SOTM blog hop, I received a comment from CHill (click on her name to visit her blog), nominating me for a Liebster award! Now, I was not sure what a Liebster award was, so I had to look it up.

I ended up at Wikipedia for may answer, which didn't help me much. I did however find the defintion of Liebster. The word is German and means:
(der) n. sweetheart, beloved person, darling

The award is given to bloggers by other bloggers that have less than 200 followers. There is no real "Award" , but the award can be  the recognition itself.  Thank you CHill for the award! There are a couple of rules for the award.

So now I need to post 11 random things about my self. This might be a little hard...

1. When I am working on my crafting I like to listen to 80's hair bands.

2. My 1st car was a Chevrolet sprint. I did not purchase this car, a family friend did for me. I ended up having to sell it after it left me stranded in the middle of a busy intersection.

3. I LOVE Postit notes.

4. Growing up we had cats for pets. When my hubby and I bought our house, he wanted to get a dog. I was not too sure about this, but we got one and I don't know what I would do without her. Even though she gets into the trash. ALOT.

5. My favorite color is purple.

6. I have only been crafting on a regular basis for about 5 years.

7. I have never been to either Disneyland or Disneyworld.

8. I love to read

9. I wish I was more organized than I really am.

10. I don't know how to swim.

11. I like to watch sports.

Now questions from my nominating blogger:

What is your favorite color? Any particular reason why? Purple. No reason ;-)

If you had to name a defining moment in your life, what would it be? When I had my children.

If you could choose a super-hero power, what would you pick? Why? To fly. I think it would be cool to be able to go where ever you wanted.

What is your favorite book? I don't really have a favorite. I love to read.

Do you have a hobby/hobbies? What is it? I am a scrapbooker.

What’s the farthest from home you’ve ever travelled? The farthest I have travelled is to Washington D.C.
What’s the most important thing to you on your bucket list? To visit my family in Greece.

Could you live as a vegetarian? Vegetarians and vegans: Would you ever choose to eat meat? Why? I could live as a vegetarian. I would need to re learn how to cook though!

What’s you favorite website? Pinterest

Are you right or left handed? If you could change, would you? I am left handed when I write, right handed for everything else.

If you could pick your own name, what would it be? OR, what is your nickname? My friends call me Theo.

Now for my nominees for the Liebster award:

Floral Happiness

Welcome to our March Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! This month's stamp from Close to My Heart is "Floral Happiness" and is available exclusively through your Close to My Heart consultant from March 1 - 31, 2013. You can purchase this stamp set for only $5 with a qualifying purchase.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Lucy's blog – Love 2 Create If you came from "Priscilla   " of " Priscilla's Paperie then you are in the right place!

For my base I used a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 white card base. To that I cut a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of buttercup card stock, a 3 3/4 x 5 piece of twilight, and a 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 patterned paper from the Chantilly paper pack. I   then stamped 4 of the small roses in cotton candy ink, and out lined the center of the flowers with a cotton candy marker from Close To My heart. The markers come as a duo, and I used the darker pen of the 2. I stamped the smaller leaves in Pear, and then the stems in Topiary. I added a wee bit of silver glitter glitz to the center of the roses. The bow is seam binding ribbon. The sentiment is heat embossed using midnight black opaque embossing powder (from my stash), and the sentiment is from Scrapbook statements-Poets.

The Everything's ABC's blog hop letter "E"

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter E. This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has chosen as their E element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Amber's blog ~ Scrapper's Therapy

If you came from " Lucy ~ Love 2 Create"  then you're on the right track!

For my "E" I chose Embossing. I cut my card base out of slate card stock, 41/4 x 5 1/2. I think inked the edges with the pigment ink Indian corn blue using a sponge dauber. I cut the hexagon from white daisy card stock at 1.2 inches,  using the cricut cartridge Accent Essentials. I stamped the hexagons using the Honeycomb stamp set, using the mini pigment inks. While the ink was still wet, I sprinkled the hexagons with startdust transparent embossing powder, which when heated  left my hexagons sparkley. The sentiment was stamped using the Indian corn blue, and the sentiment is from the Fabulous you stamp set. I then placed bitty sparkles all over to give the card more sparkle.

Supply list:
Honeycomb stamp set C1537
Sponge daubers           Z726
Slate card stock           X5930
Fabulous you              C1533
Bitty sparkles             Z1263
Enchantment pigment inks Z2502
Stardust transparent embossing powder  (from my stash)
